A Personal Post This Time

We interrupt the semi-coherent rambling here at ArcoBlog to bring you rumor control and spin. I expect this entry to amuse my readers in Texas, perplex my family in Mississippi, and hopefully educate my readers here in Arizona.

I am not gay. On the other hand, Krystofer (a friend of mine here at Arcosanti) is gay. Those who know me are probably aware that this is not an unusual situation, since I've had several close friends who were gay, bi, or lesbian. A couple of weeks ago Krystofer and I were having a conversation in the Vaults. A man who Krystofer was attracted to came into the Vaults, saw us talking, and left quite suddenly. I joked with Krystofer about it, saying "He got scared and ran off because we're dating", then we laughed about the possibility that someone might have overheard that comment and taken it at face value. Apparently someone did, because a rumor that we were dating made its way around Arcosanti and reached Krystofer last week while I was on vacation. Ah, the joys of living in a tiny, close-knit community.

While this rumor is hilarious, I feel the need to correct it before my already-stagnant love life suffers any further. I'd rather that potential matches here at Arcosanti not hear rumors that I am gay. Come to think of it, ladies requiring proof of my orientation are welcome to drop by and test the rumor for themselves.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled rants and digital photos, already in progress.
